Oak Brook School carefully selects staff from many applicants by using a two step interview process. References, FBI background checks, and fingerprinting are done prior to hiring. All teachers are required to have current CPR and First Aid certification. Teachers with less than 2 years of previous experience must complete a 24 hour pre-service training. All teachers are required to attend a minimum of 24 hours of additional training each year that is relevant to the age group they teach.
Rachel DeBlanc – School Director
Rachel was born and raised in the DFW metroplex where she graduated high school from First Baptist Academy in Dallas. She then studied psychology at Hardin Simmons University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science. Rachel has been a professional in the field of early childhood education for 17+ years and holds a Director’s certification in the State of Texas. She has previously taught kindergarten, served as an assistant director, director, and regional director overseeing the quality and daily operations of multiple campuses.
Rachel, her husband, and their beautiful twin girls currently reside in Allen. They love being a family and enjoy the opportunity to build lasting memories with their kiddos! From enjoying the wonderful parks in Allen to experiencing all the area has to offer, Rachel and her family are excited about the opportunity to have a relational impact with families of the community!
Danielle Arras – Assistant Director
Ms. Danielle was born and raised in Texas and has a 10 year old son and another one on the way! She has recently married her wonderful husband back in December 2019. Ms. Danielle went to school for Early Childhood Education and has taught for the last 13 years. She has always had a passion for teaching and for helping kids in their growth and development. In her new role as Assistant Director she is excited to grow with the school, and have more connection with staff, kids and parents! She loves being part of the OBS family!
In her free time she loves to do anything outdoors, and spend time with family and friends!
Nicholas Goodson – Curriculum Coordinator
Mr. Nick was born & raised in Mesquite, TX. He moved to Collin County in 2017 when he started at OBS. Mr. Nick comes to us with 11 years of experience. He is a big kid at heart. When he isn’t spending time with family, friends or his fur baby his mind is always spinning with new ideas to implement into our school.
Growing up he worked in the children’s ministry & infant room at his church. Where he grew his passion working with children. He started working at Mesquite ISD in 2009 as a special-needs teacher for five years. He then moved to Euless in 2014 and worked at Harmony of Innovation for two years. During that time, he also was the after-school site director for a program called Zenith Learning until 2016. Mr. Nick considers it a huge blessing to his life to be working with children of all ages. Mr. Nick is a huge asset to our school with a variety of different training as he’s worked in multiple different fields in this career. He feels these children have helped him grow as a person while he’s been able to shape their little minds and add joy to their hearts in the meantime. Nick was voted “Teacher of the year in 2017! That just speaks volumes to his passion, dedication and love for the job. To him it is more than just a job, it’s a family! Something he gets up and looks forward to each day.
Michele Tackett – Infant Coordinator
Ms. Kathya – Infants Teacher
Ms. Kathya is originally a native of Panama but was raised in Southern California. She has a lot of experience taking care of children from teeny tiny newborns to school age kids. Infants are her most favorite age group! She loves giving them all the love and nurturing they need while they are away from their parents. Ms. Kathya is a mother of three grown children and wife to the man of her dreams! She absolutely loves taking care of our Oak Brook babies.
Ms. Chesley – Infants Teacher
Ms. Chesley was born & raised in Texas. She has a little boy Hudson who is two. Ms. Chesley enjoy doing activities with her son like going outside, playing games & watching Disney movies. She loves kids and being able to watch them grow and learn new things, and is really excited on being a part of OBS!
Ms. Gloria – Infants Teacher
Ms. Gloria has a master’s degree in education and has been working in childcare since 2012. In her free time, she loves to watch movies and spend time with her two daughters and beautiful granddaughter! She has thoroughly enjoyed working in our infant wing for the past year bonding with our babies and their parents. We are happy to have her on our OBS team!
Ms. Cristina – Infants Teacher
Ms. Cristina (aka Ms. Tina) is so excited and ready to see all your kiddos in her class this year. She has been with the OBS family since 2018. Ms. Cristina has worked with multiple age groups over the years. She has a beautiful daughter named Noelyn. She and her husband, Noe love spending time playing with their daughter.
Ms. Sandra – Tiny Tots Teacher
Ms. Sandra is new to Oak Brook and this will be her first year here. She has been working with kids since her junior year in high school. She lives in McKinney and has a 3 year old little girl. Ms. Sandra is so excited to be here and a part of the OBS family!
Ms. Xamara – Tiny Tots Teacher
Ms. Xamara has been in childcare for about 5 years. She is happily married and has a little boy in the toddler class here at OBS. She’s always been passionate about working with children, she loves them as if they were her own! She is so excited to be a part of the OBS family and all the memories to come!!!
Ms. Casandra – Tots Teacher
Ms. Cassandra is honored to be a part of the OBS family! She has been working in childcare for four years and looks forward to learning and growing alongside the toddlers that she has the pleasure of teaching daily! She loves toddlers and all the exploring, learning, and fun that they (and she) get to have! Ms. Cassandra lives in McKinney with her husband and son.
Ms. Danielle M. – Early Learners Teacher
Ms. Danielle has worked with kids for over 7 years now! Ms. Danielle works with our two-year old’s and is the life of the party. Her contagious laugh makes the kids smile as they rock out in the classroom together! When not at work, Ms. Danielle enjoys time with her husband and daughter.
Ms. Caroline – Early Learners Teacher
This is Ms. Caroline’s first year at Oak Brook and she is super excited to being our school year! She has several years of child care experience. Ms. Caroline is pursuing Legal Studies. She enjoys exploring new places and reading.
Ms. Jasmine – Early Learners Teacher
This will be Ms. Jasmine’s first year at Oak Brook and she cannot wait for the adventures that it will bring! Ms. Jasmine was born in Texas. She is thrilled to be a teacher at OBS and hopes that this school year will be fun with lots of learning.
Ms. Jennifer – Pre-PreSchool Teacher
Ms. Jennifer has been in child-care since 2002. She took some time off to be with her two boys but came back to work with children again because this is where her heart is! Jennifer and her family love the outdoors. We are so thankful to have someone with 17+ years of child-care experience at our school!
Ms. Rebecca – Pre-PreSchool Teacher
Ms. Rebecca was born and raised in Texas with close ties to her family. She loves babies and the Pre-PreSchool age group! She believes it to be a blessing to see the kids every day and to watch them learn and grow! Ms. Rebecca is also a new mom to her son Jaxon and is a loving aunt to a two-year old. We are so grateful to have her on our amazing OBS team!
Ms. Jordan – Preschool Teacher
Ms. Jordan, her husband, and their 5-year old daughter live in Princeton Texas. Ms. Jordan went to school for early childcare development and she has worked with kids since she was 16 years old. She is going back to school to finish her degree so she can become an elementary school teacher. In the meantime, she wants to focus on helping grow the minds of the children that she’s blessed to lead each day.
Ms. Taylor B. – Preschool Teacher
This is Ms. Taylor’s first year at Oak Brook School, but she has been a preschool teacher for 4 years and in childcare for over 15 years. Ms. Taylor loves the exploring, fun and learning that goes on in the classroom. Her passion is to lead the next generation with examples of leadership, love, forgiveness and kindness! She has been married for 5 years to her best friend and has a 15-month-old son who she loves with all her heart! Ms. Taylor is the oldest of 5 siblings and family is very important to her. Her goal is to become an elementary school teacher, but she sure does have a soft spot for the little ones!
Ms. Ana – Preschool Teacher
Ms. Ana is thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year. She is looking forward to have so much fun!. Ms. Ana has been in child care since 2016 and she LOVES what she does! She has three kids of her own – Mia, Fabian and Maisy.
Ms. Marilyn – Preschool Teacher
Ms. Marilyn is excited to be a part of Preschool 2 class this year. More importantly so happy to be a teacher at OBS! She has been in childcare for about 5 years. Marilyn has a daughter, Aubrey that currently is in the toddler class here at OBS. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is so excited for what this year has in store. She also can’t wait to do all the fun things she has plan for her class!
Ms. Gabbie – Pre-K Teacher
Ms. Gabbie is originally from Mesquite, TX. She has 3 nephews that she loves and they have helped her realize just how much she loves being around young children! She says that she looks forward to coming to school every day because she loves to teach the children and watch them grow, and she even looks forward to seeing herself grow along with the children!
Ms. Yomali – Pre-K Teacher
Ms. Yomali is from McKinney, TX where she lives with her husband and two young children. She has been in the early childhood education industry for several years and loves working with young children where she admires their creativity, imagination, and endless energy! Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family as much as she can.
Ms. Taylor M. – Pre-K Teacher
Ms. Taylor is so excited for this school year with your kiddos. She has been with the OBS family since 2017. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, Nick and their dog, Maizee. Ms. Taylor loves to be outside camping, kayaking and taking care of their chickens.
Ms. Raquel – Pre-K Teacher
Ms. Raquel has been working in child care since 2017. This is her first year with OBS. She is so excited to be working here teaching and loving to love on all the children. During her free time, Ms. Raquel enjoys crafting at home, caring for her plants, spending time with children, chasing dogs and enjoying time outdoors.
Ms. Sandy – Private Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Sandvold who likes to go by Ms. Sandy will be teaching your children for the 2020-21 school year. She is so excited to use all of her knowledge in education to support your children in their successes. Amazing things are on the horizon!
Ms. Sandy grew up on Military bases throughout the United States. She has lived in California, Virginia, Kentucky and now, Texas. In 2017, Ms. Sandy graduated with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies and a minor in Sociology from California State University. Then graduated from the Teacher Education Program at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2018. Most recently, she received her Masters degree from UCLA in education.
Ms. Kayla – Private Kindergarten Teacher Aide
Ms. Kayla is new to Oak Brook School. She has 3 years experience teaching children between the ages of 2-13. She is currently in school for her Bachelors degree. Ms. Kayla is super excited for this school year!
Ms. Kelsey – Explorers Teacher
Ms. Kelsey has had a passion for being around children for as far back as she can remember! Being a part of such a vulnerable period in their life and shaping their little minds gives her the greatest joy! She is currently waiting to get into the nursing program and from there she plans on specializing in the NICU so she is able to still work with children and fulfill her passion! From the feel of family and getting to know each and every student and their parents, OBS has been such a blessing in her life and has taught her so much! She will be able to utilize the skillset she’s been exercising at OBS when she’s carrying out her dream job as a nurse! Until then, Ms. Kelsey plans to continue to give her all into the precious students to help them grow academically, emotionally and socially!
Ms. Diana – Spanish/Computer/Music/Gym Teacher
Ms. Diana is originally from Peru and has been working with infants to schooler aged kids for 8 years. Teaching is her greatest passion and she absolutely love it! In her free time, Ms. Diana likes to spend time with her family and going on adventures with her daughter! Ms. Diana is so thankful to be a part of OBS!
Ms. Liz – Art Teacher
Ms. Liz was born in Táchira, Venezuela, and moved to the United States when she turned 20 years old. Ms. Liz is happily married and has three children Pedro, Nicole and Gabriella. Ms. Liz has been working with children for 20 years and is fantastic with all ages and specializes in creative arts.
Chef Amanda – Chef
Ms. Amanda is from Lone Star, Texas and has helped raise her three nephews. She has worked in the food industry for over 20 years. She has a wealth of knowledge in healthy cuisine and nutrition. She has been with the Oak Brook family since 2014. She says her day is made when kids run up to her and tell her they love her food! Chef Amanda looks forward to continuing to create healthy and delicious meals for the children of Oak Brook School.
